Fountain of Love

East Rand MINIacs adopted Fountain of Love Orphanage.

Some of the East Rand MINIacs members and kids from the Fountain of Love orphanage, during a visit to the home after a charity drive.

In April 2003, Gogo Rosy Mthembu found a little boy on the doorstep of her house in Katlehong, a township on the East Rand. He had been abandoned because he was infected with the HIV virus. Gog’ Rosy took him
in and went on to open her home to children who are infected with HIV/Aids, abandoned or abused. Fountain of Love Orphanage now looks after over 40 children.

A number of activities that the East Rand MINIacs undertake are aimed at raising proceeds for the orphanage – both in cash and in kind – as well as to bring more attention to the orphanage, so as to garner more support for it from the wider community.
